I also love the idea of lots of light, good pantry, less upper cabinets in the kitchen and a good sized living room!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112479792622672013.post-63757053144438320352010-06-07T18:36:12.008-05:002010-06-07T18:36:12.008-05:00My pet peeve is the master bath opening directly o...My pet peeve is the master bath opening directly onto the master bedroom, so if one of you gets up before the other, turning on the light in the bathroom wakes the other spouse....kimchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14020798623317549440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112479792622672013.post-45983078855444173812010-01-26T11:11:50.533-06:002010-01-26T11:11:50.533-06:00Could you also include space a possible third bedr...Could you also include space a possible third bedroom above the garage? Possibly a bigger kitchen plan than living room since it seems that most of our family and others I talk to congregate in the kitchen. Also, possibly a walk-in pantry. I love the idea of a smaller home. Most estimates we have been getting to build are $130 a square foot so you can do the costs for just a 2000 square foot home. A lot of the cost is in the foundation so I would be very interested to see what you come up with.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112479792622672013.post-77770954578103887012009-11-29T18:47:57.117-06:002009-11-29T18:47:57.117-06:00I will be looking forward to seeing what you come ...I will be looking forward to seeing what you come up with! My husband & I are starting to discuss building a new home, and he will not consider a second-floor master - this is non-negotiable item for him. And as you say, most of the plans I've seen are huge, ugly, or both.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112479792622672013.post-34348012460327027642009-11-19T11:16:12.399-06:002009-11-19T11:16:12.399-06:00You might want to consider the landscape/hardscape...You might want to consider the landscape/hardscape as well -- specically the relationship between public/private space. This transition will be even more important with a smaller home (assuming a smaller lot).

Great blog!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112479792622672013.post-28995796586183093912009-11-13T08:19:40.190-06:002009-11-13T08:19:40.190-06:00Housing plans are great if they are simple.
